KloLicht
Klolicht
Everybody has an boring light light on his toilette. Yeah ok it is bright, but it is simply boring, there is only one brightness, but only one color. Had you never the wish to have multiple colors, fading from one color to another, on your toilette, while you are reading interesting science books? I had this dream, and I did it.
I made an ceiling light, consisting of 140 ultra bright LEDs, in four different colors. There are 40 red, 40 green and 40 blue LEDs. But this would probably not be bright enough. So i added 20 white LEDs. The white LEDs make an real difference, it is really lighter. So i took an plywood ( 60cm x 160cm ). After painting the plywood with a white color, i drilled there 140 wholes for the LEDs in it. When i soldered the wires on the back, i always put 3 - 4 LEDs in one row, depending on the color of the LEDs, and one series resistor before them. All rows of one color are collected i one big row, so that they can be switched on/off with one signal. Each color signal is controlled by an Power MOSFET and powered with 12V.
Fading the LEDs is done by an ATmeag8 by Pulse Wide Modulation. In this way there are different brightnesses possible. The Klolicht has two modes:
- It is fading from random colors to random colors in random speeds.
- Or controlled by an IR remote control. The receiver is an TSOP1736
